The collection contains account books, legal papers, and correspondence relating to the Dunn family's law practice, travel mementos and cartes de visite, poetry, and personal notebooks. Topics in the law practice papers include Civil War military pensions and estates, accounts, and Dunn Sr.'s informal guardianship of a friend's son. Also included are travel mementos and cartes de visite of Moses Fell Dunn's travels in Europe and Asia, especially India, and his passport signed by Walter Q. Gresham.
